Unblock parental controls

Hi,

I had to set up a dummy email address to be able to set parental blocks on my son's Xbox a few years ago. I now want to remove those blocks as he's older and doesn't need them.

But...I moved country 6 months ago and didn't think to update the phone number on this account as I never use it. I tried resetting the password and it let me do that but for some reason when I tried to log in it said it was the incorrect password (weird as I'd entered it twice when resetting it).

The next time I tired to reset it, it tried to send a security code to my old phone (number no longer active).

Then it asked me to fill in a request form to reset the password. But as I've never sent an email from this account and there isn't anything else linked to it, it says I haven't provided sufficient info.

All I want to do is remove the parental blocks so that my son can access his Xbox. I don't mind if the dummy account is deleted but I don't want him to lose all his history on the Xbox. Could I delete this dummy email and would this sort out my problem? If it remains locked I think I'll need to move out of the family home!

Hello MattCooper30, by your description as you no longer have the account security numbers or emails you should try to add them, but this will put the account in a 30 day quarantine.

If the system does not allow you to just ask to freefill the account recovery form, you will have to try to fill in as much account data as possible.

Go to "Settings" and then "Privacy" and unblock anything under Content and unblock Partner Marketing. That is, if your account is an adult account. If not have your parents unblock it for you.

nobody here will help you bypass parental controls, they are there for a reason, if your parents want it blocked then you must abide by their decision, why don't you talk to them and ask them if they will let you play, they can unblock and give you time limits instead.

Hi Guys,

I did not have any images or video on the dashboard either. The problem was that BT Broadband will stop those things unless parental controls is unblocked.

Go to the your BT website and allow all downloads.

In other words, your internet server settings may restrict what you can download to Xbox.

1) Go to http://commerce.microsoft.com and sign in with the parental Microsoft Account addresse (AKA the Windows LIVE ID) and password. Is the info there accurate and up to date? Does that ask you
to unblock the account? Is there a balance due?

2) Sign out. Sign in with your Microsoft Account and password. Is the info there accurate and up to date? Does that ask you to unblock the account? Is there a balance due?
