Unauthorized gamertag change

Hello,

My rooommate changed my gamertag recently and I would like it changed back. I got refunded for the original change but would like to change it back to my original name without having to pay for it. Thank you for your help with this issue

My live account was breeched 3 weeks ago and changes were made to my address and phone and email address and most important my gamertag was changed. The reference # is 1169014524 I have not heard any news on this. I have had multiple phone conversations
with tier 1 people and they cannot tell me anything but that the us is completed. What I would like to know is can my gamertag be restored? I have been a live customer since 2002 and my gamertag was unique and simple and I would like it back. Any help on this
matter would be greatly appreciated. During the original call I made to support I was instructed by the tier one agent too correct all of the changes that were made to my account, which includes email address billing address and phone numbers, I am thinking
this should of not been done, but I thought it was the support dept. they know what they are doing. The short of this is please restore my original gamertag.

They should have started an investigation and sent you an email when it is all over. Did they say anything about that?

 

You were refunded for the change your roommate made but you want to change it back for nothing, really?!? How would that be right? Just use the refund you received to change it back and be happy it didn't cost you anything.

 

I was refunded but I am still stuck with the name he changed it to. I just want my original name back without having to pay anything

 

They are not going to change your name for free. You will have to pay for that change. You are responsible for what is done on your system/account. You are fortunate they gave you back the original fee! Why don't you just use that fee to change your
name back you will be out NOTHING!

Unfortunately, you're responsible for everything that happens on your account, so yes, you're going to have to pay for the change (and be happy that you only had to pay for one change and not two). In the future, you might consider requiring your password

Okay, I see what you are saying sorry I missed it initially. Definitely my bad!

However, I am not sure they will give it back because it is your responsibility to maintain control of your system. I think I would hit that "friend" up for the fee.

 

Collect it from your roommate who changed it in the first place. Genesis1953 is right about one thing...You are responsible for your account and anything that happens to it. Password protect your profile on the console as I doubt MS is going to give you
$10 to change the name back.

You aren't going to get any satisfaction here as this is an account issue which must be handled by phone. No one here can help change your name. Phone Support for your region is the route to go. If they tell you to come here they are just trying to get you
off the phone.

True as that doesn't happen often. Didn't mean that to imply you weren't correct about the other points. I just used that to emphasize mine. I should have phrased that a bit differently in any case.

Lets see if I have this worked out or not. Your name was changed by a roommate, who likely used $10 you had on your account to do it. Right there you are -$10 and + a new name. You were refunded the $10, which puts you at -0-, but you still have the new
name. To change it back to your original name, would cost you $10 which would put you at -$10, and your original name. While I can see and understand your frustration, sadly there is no other way then to pay the fee to change it back to your original name.
I too, would hit up your roommate for the $10.
