Unassign a Headset

i only play fortnite, so im not sure if this issue applies more broadly. In short, under Settings>kinect and devices, it lists my controller and two witeless headsets (i cant tell if its my ild one or one of my kids wgo have logged in to play before).
Anyway, when i lkg into play, the xbox one s either assigns both headsets to me or just the old one. Guessing that confuses the xbox so the chat doesnt work...the only fix is if i go to the old headset, assign it to one of my kids and then manually assign
the new headset. Every time. Im doing so, i log my kids out of whatever they are doing (not great) and its a pain. Is there a way to remove or permanently umassign the old headset? If it matters, the headset is a turtle beach stealth 700.

I have a Turtle beach Stealth 700 Xbox One and no longer use the console. Every time I power on my headset to use on my PC or phone, it turns on the Xbox, how can I unassign it from doing this or connecting to the Xbox at all? Thanks

Thank you for posting on the forums today, I'd be happy to help you.

Anything that you see in the Devices section of your Xbox is an accessory or device that is currently connected to the Xbox. This means that the old headset is still somehow connecting to your Xbox. The stealth 700 utilizes the new Xbox Wireless headset
technology which allows a direct wireless connection without any USB adapters by simply paring the two. Some older Turtle beach wireless headset models have a USB adapter to connect wireless and they don't have direct connection like the stealth 700.

What was the old headset model that you had? Was it connected using a USB adapter? If so, make sure the adapter is still not plugged into any of the 3 USB ports.

Thanks so much for the reply, diego. Im not sure of the brand, but the previous headset was wireless and did use a USB. However, the USB is long gone unfortunately, i cant tell what headphone set the extra one is. My son has another turtle beach set,
but it is wired.
