unable to use my balance

hello

today I tried buying fifa 14 from the xbox .com but it just keeps asking to add credit card ..



I have $50 on my balance whats the problem ? is it from the regions or what?

I'm unable to use my account balance to pay for things in my Xbox! The balance appears greyed out. What can I do?

 

Unable to use my MS account balance

I have about a $12 MS account balance connected to my xbox. The account balance must be used by the middle of this month or I will lose it. Of all the games I was looking at, they all cost more than $12. When I try to split the cost of any game between my
account balance and my CC (available as a purchase option) the transaction does not go through. After a lengthy chat the conclusion came down to since CA sales tax is charged on CC transactions I can not split the purchase. I can add money to my MS account
but only in blocks of $10. By doing so I will never be able to bring my account balance to $0. The unfair racket is this: in order to spend my remaining balance, I need to add more than I want to spend to my account. If I don't add more than I want to spend
I loose my entire balance. If I do add more than I need to spend then I end up with another account balance which I will not be able to zero out and will eventually loose as well. MS needs to allow us to add smaller increments to our account so that we can
zero out our balance or install the correct software that will allow us to make a split transaction. Our account balance is our money but due to limited options available to us the customer, MS ends up taking our account balance for themselves. It's not fair,
it's not just and there should be more options!!!

 

I can't even download demos what is the problem?!

 

What country do you live in and which country is your gamertag set up for? Where did you purchase your currency that was added to the account?

If your gamertag is set for a different country than you live in and you purchased your currency locally you will not be able to use it. Currency that is added to the account must match the country that the account is set up for.

 

I live in Saudi Arabia. and the account is also in Saudi Arabia....

when I enter my account on xbox.com it says you have $50 balance.

but when I try to buy fifa it says add credit card

 

it was redeemable card that I got the money with. redeemed on xbox site

 

also I can't buy from my xbox 360 because the balance is not shown..

 

If it's showing as $50 redeemed and not your local currency, you would not be able to use that money to make a purchase in your region because it doesn't match your region's currency.

The website has not been updated to use the currency system, so that is why it asks for a card.

 

yes it says 0 (local currency) but how can I use that $50 ??? ... it says I have 2 profiles on

If you want to use currency through the website you'd have to wait for it to update, but that would not fix this issue since it's a region issue. Your account region would have to match the region that the currency is for in order to use it. However, region
migration can cause you to lose access to content you may have already purchased and since your physical location would not match your account location, you will have issues downloading content.

 

Should I change my region to US? because in
commerce.microsoft.com/PaymentHub it says I have $50 on US profile and 0 on my Saudi Arabia profile....

 

Why did the money end up on the US region??! I redeemed it to my xbox 360 profile that is in SA .. why did they create a profile in US and put the money there?? so basically I wasted $50 on nothing? should I contact someone?? maybe support ?.... this is
outrageous

 

If the site was set to US instead of Saudi Arabia when you added the card, I believe it would do that. Or if the card was meant for the US. You can try contacting support, but I don't believe they can do anything.
