Unable to Use Money Already on My Xbox Account

So I recently got a Code from GameStop for $20 on my account. But when I tried to purchase the Second **** DLC for Battlefield 4 the option to use my Account for purchases didn't work.

I am an American military member stationed overseas for a year, and I am totally unable to buy anything from the marketplace. I'm living off-base in Korea, so I'm on Korean internet. Not only am I unable to use my credit card that worked before, I am also
unable to use the funds that my microsoft points were transferred over to. The error message says that xbox live couldn't get authorization for me to pay with credits that are already in my account. How in the world do I get microsoft to take my money?
(or even let me use the money i've already given them?)

 

Microsoft Account Money Not Usable for Gold

I have checked the forums as to why I am unable to use money I have on my microsoft account to buy a Gold Subscription. The only thing close to getting an answer was one guy telling another that you are unable to use Microsoft Account money to buy Gold
at all. So really... Are you freaking kidding me? I have money already on my account ready to use and I am unable to buy Gold? I was in the middle of playing when I was kicked. Someone tell me this is a very bad joke... the only other option is that it's
a freakin cheese scam. Oh... and how do you get a straight answer from someone from Microsoft? Killing my game time here.... what a drag.

 

If you are trying to add it on the website you cannot use what's in your account. Account can only be accessed and used from the console. When on the console it will ask for an alternate payment method first just in case there is not enough funds in your
account. It will then proceed to remove funds from the console first and then take any remainder from the alternate method.
