Unable to use currency on my xbox account

So I've had $30 worth of prepaid cards stored on my account for over 2 years. Over these past 2 years I have tried using the money on my account yet it won't work. The "no currency" message always pops up and says that i need to add a credit card to my account.

I've added multiple credit cards to this account but i removed them after finding out that nothing changed i still can't use the money.

Any kind of help is appreciated.

I should also mention that I'm in Canada and i bought the prepaid cards in the US, if that's the problem than that is just very terrible customer service. there is no reason there should a borderline in the area of currency.

xbox 360 ! currency issue

I have a strange issue: I live in the Netherlands and my account is also set to this country (language and console) on my xbox one and windows account. But when I turn on my xbox 360 and I go to the marketplace, I find my account has the $ currency instead
of the € currency. I am unable to find the solution on my 360 and unable to buy 360 games (unable to add € to a $ currency) Can anyone help me out here?

Well even though you didn't gave any valuable information, beside being a smartass, I found a way to spend those points and actually bought the DLC I wanted.

yes currency from one account will not work on another cause of the differences in the amounts. when you moved to a different region the currency does not carry over they tell you should use up all that currency on the account before you change the regions
or you loose any you had on that account sorry.

I really really hope You Did because It isnt reversible

Migrating to another région That You dont actually live in will cause issues with Dlc especially any games for gold games

Currency is Not transférable between régions

Meaning That currency You used is stuck in That région

At least If It didnt work You could exchange It via your vendors site depending on their policy

I bought it on ebay from someone who lives in Italy. I got the code by mail and apparently it was a code with 2100MS points. It got converted to 25.44 euros as soon as I redeemed the code. The reason why I chose Ireland was because the official Xbox one
release in Belgium will be September this year. The only European country where the use Euros and speak English is Ireland so that seemed to be the most logical option.

So now I have to wait until the official release in Italy before I can choose that country to use my money? That's lame ;( I've got money on my tag and can't even use it to buy stuff. Such rip off...

Did you purchase your gift card locally? Are Euros used in Ireland (sorry, I don't know that). Currency cards can only be used to purchase items in the country that they are sold in. For example: You live in Belgium and purchase a currency card locally
but your gamertag is set to Ireland. The currency card can only be used if your tag is set to Belgium.
