unable to upgrade destiny from xbox360 to xboxone

I have destiny disc installed and been playing fine on my xboxone but wanted digital since I bring my system to places and dont want to carry disk around. I bought destiny xbxo360 on xbox.com but not having luck installing it on xboxone. Another thing, xbox.com
shows full price for destiny and the expansion pass even though I've paid for both. CSR told me I have to download it on xbox360 version first before it gets activated for upgrade. problem is my 360 is couple thousand miles away at my parents. Any suggestion?

Destiny collection upgrade help

Okay guys, I found the information from Bungie and they say that players who own Destiny: The Taken King on their xbox360 can upgrade their Destiny content, to Xbox One by purchasing Destiny - The Collection Upgrade.

It is only available for digital purchase and players must upgrade within the same console family (that means going from xbox360 to Xbox One). You also need the Xbox Gamertag that owned the content on the xbox360.

If you have then go to the xbox store and search for Destiny The collection upgrade. Scroll down to the games section and click on Destiny The collection upgrade (it will say bundle underneath it).

Look in the top right hand corner of the page and sign in.

Look at the grey box where it said "coming soon", it should now show you the amount that it will cost to purchase it.

From there you just need to click it and buy it.

xbox360 to xboxone

I've just switched console from XBox360 to XBoxOne. My new XBoxOne console does not support my old game Destiny, The Taken King.

Is there an update that can be downloaded or do I must purchase a new game ?

The rep was correct, you had to initiate the download on the 360 before it will show as a free download on the One. You don't need to finish the download, but you do need to start it. I might also add that the offer expires on the 15th of this month so you
will need to start this prior to that date in order to take advantage of the dual license for the game. Since your 360 is not near you, I would suggest finding a good friend and start the download on his machine while logged it to your account. It will be
linked to his console since you do download it there first (which is why I said a good friend), but you can still access it on your own 360 as long as you are logged in. You can do a license transfer later to your console to move the license over to it.
