    Unable to unlink MS account from bungie.net


    My old xbox/ms account has been deleted, its way over the 60 day threshold for activation, its currently still linked to my bungie profile, bungie wont let me unlink the xbox account because it requires logging into the xbox account to unlink it, Bungie have specifically told me the account in question needs to be unlinked by microsoft themselves as they do not have access to microsofts account information, they are a third party and have zero control over what third party applications the ms account can be linked to.

    I am currently unable to use my bungie account on my new xbox because of this, thus losing around 10 years of progress.

    Is there any way to rekove third party access on a closed account?

    Things to note:

    - original ms account is now closed and past the deadline for reactivation

    - bungie cannot remove the ms account without me logging into it to confirm removal (due to it being closed this is now impossible)

    Hello there,

    In order to unlink an account, you first have to disable cross save and/or unlink accounts, you must be able to authenticate the accounts. Bungie cannot forcibly de-link them.

    I would suggest contacting the platform concerning gaining access to the platform account.

    If you are unable to gain access to the account, then you will not be able to deactivate cross save or unlink it from your current Bungie.net profile.

    Destiny Player Support and Bungie cannot modify or remove accounts linked to Bungie.net profiles. To protect player privacy and data, you must be able to log in to any linked accounts to prove ownership prior to modifying your linked account. If you no longer have access to a linked account, you will need to reach out to the specific platform’s support for assistance with account recovery options.

    So - this hacker can still play my game - he is impersonating me to my friends. I cannot get him out of my game. And I am not receiving help from Bungie whos game this is.

    Can you do anything?

    Well this started up when I linked my account on Bungie.net, so I've unlinked it and hopefully the problem is over.

    If you recently deleted the Microsoft account you can cancel the request following the steps here:

    "If you want to reopen your Microsoft account, just sign in again within that 60 days. We’ll cancel the account closure, and everything will be just as you left it."

    If more than 60 days passed in this case you may need to reach Bungie support.

    Because Microsoft support doesn't have the tools to view or remove third party accounts linked to your Microsoft account
