Unable to uninstall FH5 from the microsoft store

I don't really know where else to turn here so i'm gonnna try asking people here-

I recently installed Forza Horizon 5 for my PC, but had to install it due to my hard drive not having enough space and I can just play it on my xbox, however, come to find out when i go to uninstall it, it says it uninstalled about 300 KB, instead of the 100+ GB that it should uninstall. The folder is still located in ProgramFiles/windwosapps , and I can't delete the folder in there due to lack of permission, even with giving myself the "owner" role of the folder, it still doesn't let me delete the folder. The microsft store detects the game as uninstalled and i was only able to fix this issue by typing this in windows powershell admin:: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

And then I go to uninstall the app again, but the same thing happens.

I honestly don't know what to do to fix this issue anymore.

Thanks for reaching out to the Xbox forums! I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with issues in uninstalling FH5 from your machine. Let me provide you with a different solution from the ones you have attempted. Hopefully, these solutions will resolve your issues.

Solution 1: Please click on this link Disk cleanup in Windows 10 (microsoft.com). Then, you should see any items taking up space and even games installed.

Solution 2: Moving Games and Apps from Window Store/Xbox App to another drive

Open Settings.
Click on System.
Click on Apps & features.
Select the app you want.
Click the Move button.
Select the destination drive from the drop-down menu.
Click the Move button to relocate the app.

Once you move the game, then try to uninstall it.

Hey, I had problem like this and got it fixed by just uninstalling FH5 and then installing it again (heres the weird catch) After I uninstalled it and pressed download apparently FH5 was still installed(i didnt have to redownload the whole game) the app didnt uninstall FH5 (no idea why), making it work after this weird fiasco.

Seriously though they need to get this sorted out, had this problem a while ago and its the second time appearing, usually happens when I have to update the Xbox App from microsoft store. i think the xbox app is conflicting with the microsoft store in whose installing what update to which game.

Make sure you remove all the DLC that might be why it's still taking up space.

It just worked it self out, but thanks for the answer, now i at least know what to do is it happens again

Hello Counting,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand there is residual even after uninstalling the game. You will need to access the windows administrator tools, go into the Win folder, and manually delete the files for the game.
