    Unable to uninstall Age of Empires from Xbox Gamepass


    I no longer have Xbox Gamepass, but I noticed that Age of Empires was still installed.

    I uninstalled it from the control panel, but I recently noticed that the game is still taking up 12 GB on my drive. I am unable to remove the files.

    I've tried refreshing the windows store with

    WSReset.exe

    But that didn't help. When I search the game in the windows store, it oddly has a Run button, as if it knows it's installed, but no way to uninstall. (Run doesn't work, either).

    I saw someone else was able to solve this by clearing the system storage temporary files, but this also did not work for me.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Some of the games on PC are availble on gamepass on Xbox however not all of them such as Age of empires as it requires a mouse and keyboard. Also gamepass for PC is a separate subscription to Gampeass, you would either have to buy another gamepass subscription
    or get Gamepass Ultimate which works both on PC and Xbox

    Yes, the game I used to get the error message was Twelve Minutes, but I also got the same error from all the gamepass games I tried to play on PC. (Doom Eternal, Carrion, Project Winter, and Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition).

    Hi Kimmy, I can play other games without any issue. E.g. I can play Age of Empires 4 out of the same gamepass subscription without problems.

    In addition to what DominumStige said, if you're still experiencing trouble with Age of Empires Definitive Edition crashing upon launch, please try a full uninstall and reinstall of the game. This was suggested by the official Age
    of Empires team via this
    tweet     when they became aware of this issue.
