    Unable to turn tv volume up using Xbox One Insignia remote


    I recently was gifted an Insignia remote for my Xbox One to use it for streaming services and controlling my tv. I bought an IR emitter to control my tv, and was able to set up my Samsung Model UN46SE6500F tv, following the setup guide. I can turn the
    tv on and off, turn the volume down and mute, but I cannot for the life of me turn the volume UP, which is a pretty important function. Has anyone run into this issue and is there a way to trouble shoot it? I’ve tried multiple remote codes but none have worked.

    On my Insignia- remote code 2472 allows "xbox mute" to work - but none of the other functions (volume up/down or power) works. The other remote codes - none of the features work. Any other ideas?

    Hmmm, I'm using that exact same media remote for my living room console! Are you positive that the remote can do that? I can turn up the volume on my TV with the remote but not the volume of my external big speakers. Even with the TV volume i find the
    remote to be very unresponsive, takes multiple clicks to register or just won't work sometimes.

    Thanks for responding! Yup, I am referring to Xbox One remote control.

    I had checked the troubleshooter before, but it didn't help unfortunately. I am simply unable to control volume or turn off/on my monitor using Xbox One remote control. It happens despite I add my HP ENVY 32 as a TV (in fact Xbox recognized it automatically
    and assigned T1642 remote code).

    Is there any other code I could use to be able to control my HP monitor via media remote?

    Xbox Media Remote

    The only thing the media remote will do to your TV is turn it on. The volume and channel buttons are not useable on it. You would be better of getting a Harmony remote and using that.
