Unable to start Xbox app on PC

Greetings! Since roughly 2 weeks ago I am unable to start the Xbox PC app and thus unable to access any games through my gamepass.

The problem shown is the following:

Upon starting up the Xbox app I am shortly greeted by the white pulsating xbox logo and then get an error window with error code: 0x80070422. The title of the xbox app stated "Try updating again". I have a try again button on the error window, upon clicking that I get the pulsating white logo briefly and "starting app" text in the bottom and am then greeted by an error window once again titled "Try updating again." but this time errorcode 0x80073cf9. Upon trying again it keeps giving me the last error code (0x80073cf9).

Things I have attempted thus far:

- Ran windows update manually (even though it is set to automatic)

- Ran windows update troubleshooter

- Ran windows update manually again

- Checked for updates of the xbox app on the microsoft store

- Disabled antivirus / firewalls temporarily to check if they were stopping it

- Did a network reset

- Ran wsreset.exe

- Ran this in powershell cause I found that as a possible solution somewhere;

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

- Removed the xbox app and reinstalled the xbox app

- Updated any and all drivers I could find (network, graphics and a few more)

- I have checked my date and time settings, they are quite allright and accurate

- Ran an sfc scannow to make sure there were no corrupt files buggering something

The only other option I can find for now is "reset your PC", but surely a PC that is working fine that had the Xbox app running 2 weeks ago without problems shouldn't need a full reset with god knows how much work and reinstalling stuff to get an app working?

To be clear, I am running Windows 10, I have windows installed on a separate SSD with 40 GB room free and install my games on another game-SSD. I am running a complete blank here on how to get this going and will obviously cancel my subscription to gamepass ultimate if I don't get this fixed because it's become totally useless to me now.

A. Run the Gaming Services repair tool and then verify if the Xbox app works after that.

B. Search “Services” by using the Windows search functionality and look for the following services:

IP Helper
Xbox Live Auth Manager
Xbox Live Game Save
Xbox Live Networking Service
Gaming Services

For each service: Right-click on the service > Properties.
In Startup Type, set the service to Automatic.

If the service isn’t started, click Start > Apply > OK to save changes, restart your PC and try again.

Note: In case GamingServices can't be modified, skip that one.

C. Remove the latest Windows updates before trying again.

Windows 11:
“Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Updates.”

Windows 10:
“Select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates.”

Note: Make sure to restart your PC and pause automatic updates before trying again.

D. Create a new local user on your PC. Then test if you have the same outcome.

Sorry you're still having trouble. If you are still unable to launch the game from the Beta App then please find the game in the Start Menu of the PC and launch it from there

Hi, my friend has the pc version from the xbox app, and as said before he is unable to join due to not receiving a notification of the invite, he is on pc but is using the xbox app to play with me

Please try to use the console companion app to sign in before trying to sign in to the Xbox app

You can also check this, press the Start button, select Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking, and look for NAT Type under Xbox Live multiplayer.

If it says Teredo is unable to qualify, it means your PC is unable to obtain a Teredo IP address.
