unable to start up the xbox companion app

didnt find any updates one big problem is this is a fresh install of my old windows 10 as my old one got corrupted in a hdd failure and my xbox live account worked on the old set up this is the same windows 10 activation and everything same user profile
sign in and everything just seems to not be able to sign me in the app now

im fully up to date i think its because its a new windows with an old account signed in that had my old xbox one account signed in as well and i think its confused itself so i need to find a way to reset the app so it doesn't think its the old windows
by the look of things.

Check if you have a update

There is an update on Windows for Gamepass on PC, maybe that it's the problem.

Try to update your windows:

Go to Windows->Settings->Update and Securities

fixed it i had to go to the xbox profile identifier folder in my appdate local folders and delete the old account and cache folders as it was trying to use the old files once deleted signed in immediately.
