Unable to redeem Xbox Gold membership code

Hello Team,

I am a microsoft employee FTE and had brought the XBOX gold membership from company store in redmond.

However when I try to redeem the code it says Code not found. Try re-entering it. If that doesn't work, contact the merchant

How do I redeem this?

Error Code: 8016A0FA – Appears when you try to redeem a gold membership card on your account and are unable to do so because you already have the maximum 3 years (36 months) of Xbox LIVE Gold time.

When you get the 2 year mark with your gold subscription time, you will then be able to redeem that code on this account.

I purchased a 3 month xbox live gold membership card, but i am unable to redeem it to start my gold membership. when I try to do it on my console, it says the code is invalid for this purchase, and when I try to do it online, the redeem code links take
me to microsoft windows 8 download. Please tell me you do not have to activate your gold membership with a credit card, because I do not have one... HELP!!

 

Hi there,

an error like this is caused by the fact that the store didn't activate the code itself. This activation can take up to 24 hours to complete, so it's best to wait 24 hours and then try again.

If that didn't fix the issue then as mentioned you will have to contact the store itself so they can activate the code.

After the code has been activated you should be able to redeem the code succesfully
