Unable to redeem Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code – Error code 0x803f8004

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble redeeming an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code. Each time I try to redeem it, I get the error code 0x803f8004. I've verified that I'm entering the code correctly and checked for any typos. I've also ensured that my subscription hasn't expired, and I've tried redeeming the code on both the console and through the Xbox website.

Is there anyone who has faced a similar issue or knows how to resolve this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to the above, it is also only able to be redeemed in certain regions. This is the whole FAQ on that error:

"Q: I see a "Check the Instructions that came with your code. You might need to redeem it on a different web page" error when I try to apply my code!

A: If you are seeing this error, that means you do not meet the eligibility requirements to redeem the code!

If you were previously subscribed or currently subscribed to Xbox Game Pass for PC, or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you will not be able to redeem the two month trial for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate!

If you are already a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, then any Gold codes you redeem will be converted to Game Pass Ultimate. If you are not an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscriber, then no, the Gold codes should not convert to Game Pass Ultimate.

Do you have Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate? Because the error speak about "conversion", maybe you are trying to redeem an Xbox Live code of a different region and conversion to Game Pass Ultimate don't work in this way. As additional information the codes
are always region assigned.

You can stack up to 36 months for your membership this way

If you can try redeem the codes via xbox web page, log in and redeem code under profile. Also you can use the xbox phone app to redeem as well.

You can let your game pass expire and redeem code after.

The 3-month digital codes for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate do not expire.
