Unable to redeem Xbox Game Pass for PC

Hi,

I have purchased a new laptop and in Windows Store it is displaying that I am eligible to get 1 month Game Pass for PC for Free.

But, whenever I click on get button, it displays following error and shuts down.

that again Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.

Try redeeming it from their website. Their Microsoft store and their xbox app for PC is incredibly buggy and not well optimized (It's been that way for at least 1-2years).

I also redeemed my pass for 1 euro a month from their site (dutch site because I live in Holland).

I haven't had ultimate but I had normal game pass for pc before

That would be why you can't redeem it then...from the FAQs in the link I posted before:

"If you were previously subscribed or currently subscribed to Xbox Game Pass for PC, or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you will not be able to redeem the two month trial for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate!"

Since it's already been redeemed there's nothing that could be done. Codes will only redeem what they're made for. So even if it's an Xbox code, but you redeem it through the PC, you would still get Xbox content. So it would have been bought as a Game Pass for PC code instead of Game Pass for console.

It can be redeemed on either, but it will only be redeemed for what it's for. So if it's a code for PC Game Pass, it will only work on PC.
