Unable to redeem Minecraft Java even though I own Bedrock.

I had an old account which was randomly deleted, I had Java on that account. I was talking with a friend today and remembered that I have Bedrock for free on my new account.

I checked, and it said Buy instead of Get. Microsoft really confuses me with this stuff, so I'd love to get an answer or any sort of help with this.

Hi there! If you have been gifted a game, I don't think that is refundable. If you have been gifted a Bedrock game, you should have automatic access to the Java as well. I would recommend reaching out to Xbox Support to check the version of your game and see if that is eligible to get the Java version. You may reach them out here:

Hello Janice, thank you for letting me know that I cannot claim it with a different account. Do you know if Microsoft can issue a refund fo the game to my new account if I have proof of an email showing I was gifted Java Edition by a friend?

I'm sorry to hear about this issue. Typically, you can access the Java version if you're using the same account where your Minecraft Bedrock was purchased. The Java Edition will be available if you sign in to your old account.

If you're trying to claim the free Java version on a different account, that won't be possible. If you've previously purchased Minecraft, you should be able to claim the other version. Here’s how:

1. Click here https://aka.ms/JavaBedrockEdition to go to the Microsoft Store listing for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock for PC.

2. Sign-in to the Microsoft Store with your Microsoft account.

3. Once you’re signed in, instead of a “Buy” button you should see a button that says “Get.” Click this button – and now you own both editions!

After you have gotten both editions, you can download and install the Minecraft Launcher to access your games.

Same issue here, I own Minecraft Java Edition but I am unable to even access the page on the Microsoft Store to get the bedrock edition and the launcher just tells me incompatible with launcher
