Unable to redeem Microsoft Points

Hey. What exactly do you mean by Microsoft Points? Do you mean the Microsoft Rewards Points or are you referring to the old format of digital currency you could get as a gift card for Xbox. I provide an
image down below of what one of the gift cards may have looked like.

If you're referring to the first one, the points through MS Rewards... they do offer up cards that have point on them for special events normally. And those normally have detailed instructions on how to

However, since you mentioned you've tried to redeem it through the Xbox... I feel like you are referring to the latter and I have some unfortunate news for you. That gift card is no longer usable at all.
Xbox doesn't use the old Microsoft Point(s) format anymore. That digital currency system was phased out toward the middle and through the end of 2013 with all remaining balances in Xbox Live user's account being converted to local currency by 2015. Sadly,
since that time frame is well gone... I don't believe support can do anything to honor that gift card at all. You could contact a sales rep and see but, it is highly unlikely.

go check your region for your xbox account.

For Example: if your xbox live account region is US and you got your 1400Points in UK, it will be "region locked" like some other games. Create a new account with the same region as you 1400Points, then it should be working. (XBL account Region cannot be

as i am a canadian myself and account is registerd in the us i can only buy my ms point and gold memebership on the marketplace

there is no o's or zeros in the code and the b's and 8's are clearly defined, i think i found the problem but dont know how to fix it. i had no country selected in my hotmail account and my xbox defaulted to US when i reside in canada. i since changed my
address in the hotmail account i used for my box but i have tried resetting my ip, unplugging my network for periods of time, simply waiting it out and running the startup tutorial in the xbox again and selecting canada as the location and no matter what when
i sign on here it keeps bringing me to a US billing page and telling me i live in the states
