    For christmas this year I recieved an Xbox Series S, and many hours later, I still am unable to use the console. Every time i get to the stage for the console to preform a system update, one that is required to use the console, it fails and tells me that
    my internet needs to be checked. I have checked the internet via the prompt the console gives you and after many many checks,
    the console always tells me that my internet is fine, and that its Microsoft's servers that are down. However, after checking xbox support multiple times, this is not the case.
    I have tried to restart the console multiple times, have tried both on the console and on the mobile app to preform the system update, and have factory reset the console. None of this works. I can not do the system update offline as
    I do not have a compatible computer.     Please help

    Same issue, to make it worse I checked to see if my console was covered under warranty and of course its not.

    @Microsoft there has to be a blanket rule for system errors not caused by the user. This is basically another red ring of death.... we followed the troubleshooting as directed and all we got is more errors leaving LOYAL customers stuck.

    Should I go buy brand new xbox scorpio just to potentially upgrade in 3 months and waste my money or maybe even try a used one and risk another ERROR?

    So I insterted a USB with the files needed to preform an offline system update. As soon as I selected the Offline System Update option the Preparing update screen flashed for a brief second before taking me right to this error message. Help?
    I have the same problem, and i use the factory reset (erasing everything) it starts “preparing console” but stops in 50% and do nothing else ... if anyone can help pls
