Unable to Play Minecraft Java Edition, Migration issue?

Unfortunately, the deadline for migrating your Minecraft account to a Microsoft account with entitlement to Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition has passed. The migration process was open until May 10, 2023, and accounts that were not migrated by then are no longer eligible for the free Java Edition entitlement.

If you purchased Minecraft before the migration deadline, you will still be able to play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. However, you will no longer be able to claim a free copy of Minecraft: Java Edition.

If you are still interested in playing Minecraft: Java Edition, you will need to purchase it separately from the Microsoft Store.

May we ask if you tried signing into your account through this link: Sign in | Minecraft?

If yes, please click on this green button to route you to sign into your account (see screenshot below).





You should see both versions: Minecraft Java and Minecraft Bedrock to be showing without the "Buy Now". If both have "buy now" then this is not the account, you have redeemed your game license with. Please see if you have other accounts.

Hi Kathy,

Yes, I can see both games in there now.

I did some further testing yesterday and it seems to work now I have migrated my Mojang account to a different email.

I think there must of been a conflict between my Game Pass license and Mojang license on the account causing it to think I had neither.

Now the Mojang license is on my other email account it seems to work on my primary one again.
