    Unable to play Halo 2 on Xbox 360


    We have Halo 2 for Xbox. We are trying to play it on an Xbox 360. Everything I see says that it is backwards compatible. On the home screen it says 'Play Halo 2'. But when I press A, it says 'The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again. For more help visit www.xbox.com/support.'

    I have removed the hard drive to double check, and it does not say anything about being from Microsoft. Thank you to both of you. It looks like I need to buy a new hard drive.

    You are correct. It is actually not a Microsoft hard drive.

    was the unit pre owned when purchased, it may have a third party drive in which means no emulation for original xbox games as that requires a legit HDD from microsoft. do you have any other original xbox one games to try.
