Unable to play game on two different devices.

Hello.

I was trying to play Minecraft Dungeons with my son. He was using my old xbox one and I with my phone via Cloud Gaming. He was signed into the xbox using his own Microsoft account and I was using my own account for my phone. However, the game would only run on either my phone or the xbox. The game is downloaded onto the xbox on my sons user profile. My sons account is connected to the xbox family app (he is only 8). I'm not sure why it keeps thinking its one account trying to play the same game on two different devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you are well. I'll be glad to assist you.

I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues, but don't worry, we'll try to find out what's going on.

Game licenses are not shared through family groups. In order for your child to be able to use the game with his own account, you must set your account (which owns the game license) as "Home Xbox" on his Xbox One.

This way, he can use the game on his console with his own account, and you can use it via Cloud Gaming on another device with your own account.

To set this up, follow these steps:

- Sign in with your account in the console

- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

- Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

- Select Make this my home Xbox.

Thanks for all the reactions! The idea was to play with my account and notat the exact same time, so I got some great answers and we'll be having fun thanks to you guys! ^^

Not completely sure bud, I saved all my forza horizon 2 data on the cloud on xbox 360 and when I switched to xbox one I had to start everything over, and I used the exact sameaccount same everything stillhad to start from the beginning.

The only issue is that you can only be signed in on one device, on Xbox One. So you could share the game and Xbox Live Gold using the "My Home Xbox" feature but not the game saves. You will both need your own gamertag and account.
