unable to play fallout 3 on pc (game pass ultimate)

Fallout 3 has been removed from game pass (removal was scheduled for the end of February if I well remember). Having the standard game pass or the ultimate will not change anything since the list of available games is the same for the console and on PC
the Fallout games are not part of the pass.

hi thanks for helping, i got windows 11, a geforce gtx 1060 and intel i5-9600k @3.70ghz. its not a race car but should handle older games like fallout 3 perfectly fine lol i tried changing the options like lowering graphic details all the way to low and changing the window size maybe seeing if that'd help but even there the window just closed once i hit play. so i downloaded another old game (elder scrolls oblivion) and that game launched fine. so i don't think its game pass/Xbox trouble, it may be from fallout/Bethesda itself. so i may post on bethesda.net forums to see if i can get help on that end too, but i am open to any suggestions you may have to try and help!

and my new pc did have some updates but that didn't change the fallout 3 situation any. thanks again for the help!

But first, please answer the following questions :
What are your hardware specs?
Are you on windows 11 or 10?
If you try with a different game the issue persists or not at all?
What did you tried so far to fix this?

Is everything up to date in your system? Let's double check this first:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

Hi, if the issue is happening only with this game would be better get help directly from Bethesda

But I can advise you some things to try:

A. If you installed the game on D: drive (or any drive different than C try moving it to the C: drive and test

B. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily
Restart your PC and try again

C. Perform a clean boot for your PC and once restarted try again

i bought pc Ultimate game pass, then i bought fallout 76 on pc Ultimate game pass.

fallout 76 is free, on steam and bethesda.net, it is the account you pay for.
