Sorry to hear that. I guess I just have to use both 360 and One Adapter simultaneously if it works.

I have the same issue.

I have a headset adapter and a pair of music headphones w in-line mic that I've used for months and the mic no longer works w the xbox one. Still works w phone, so it didn't break.

The headset adapter works w my 360 headset and the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, so it's not the controller. All firmware is up to date. There was a console update, and the mic hasn't worked for party chat since then.

Can't figure out why it stopped working.

The original Xbox 360 controllers do not support traditional Bluetooth and as such won't pair. To pair a Xbox 360 controller you will need to purchase an adapter that you plug into your PC. The official one, I believe, can still be ordered on Amazon.

If you want to just straight up pair a controller to a PC without the need for an adapter, recent Xbox One controllers use normal Bluetooth and would pair without issue - https://www.pcgamer.com/xbox-one-controller-on-pc/ will
tell you how to spot which ones will support this as the original Xbox One controllers don't.

Please check these steps below.

What you are seeing with the LEDs is an indication that the Xbox 360 Explorer controller is entering pairing mode, not working mode. In order for the controller to function on your PC, you must first pair it with the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter.

Steps to pair the controller with the wireless adapter:

Connect the wireless adapter: Connect the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter to a USB port on your PC.

Press the pairing button on the adapter: On the wireless adapter, there is a small button (usually near the USB port). Press and hold this button for a few seconds. The LED on the adapter should start blinking.

Turn on the controller: Press the Xbox button in the center of the controller to turn it on.
