    Hello

    Yesterday my xbox stopped working correctly. The Xbox menu doesn't open, no apps load. I keep getting a message after about 90 seconds of clicking a tile to restart the xbox ( 0xd0000189) which I've done multiple times. I've done full power cycles and nothing
    has helped.

    Hello UberBlakGi I was reading your question, and the reply that was provided by .
    It would be best to contact support as mentioned, however I just thought I would add a suggestion.

    You may need to disconnect the power cord from the back of your xbox 1 in order to get that full restart.

    I usually disconnect the power for at least 10 seconds, then reconnect and power up my Xbox 1. This is a complete restart, and something support will probably suggest to you.

    I agree with Travis26, and I edited my initial answer with that thought also before I realised he'd made it also, so that's two independent suggestions on doing a complete power off and restart :)

    Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

    That particular error message has some steps you can try from the following link:

    Just in case you haven't tried to do a full reset of your Xbox, here is the link with info on how to do that:

    Also, just in case the issue is caused by dust or heat, have you checked the Xbox ventilation holes are not covered / have dust or animal hair in them? Have you tried removing all power from the Xbox, for a good couple of hours, to let it completely cool
    down, and then tried again? You might have to do this to give it the best try at a full reset.

    Further thoughts are, perhaps it might be a network / internet issue at your house? Is the internet working fine on other devices? Can you try restarting your modem and plugging the Xbox into your internet modem with an ethernet network cable (to eliminate
    the issue of wireless wifi)

    Sorry for any issues you are having due to the Service alert. Looks like the service alert is
    coming toan end. Please
    power cycleyour console and see if it is back to normal when
    it comes up.Clear the alt mac by going to settings>network>network settings>adv. Settings> alt mac clear and restart.
