Unable to log into Xbox apps on Windows 10 after changing Microsoft email.

I updated my Microsoft email in September and have been unable to log into any Xbox app (console companion, xbox, or game bar) on Windows 10 since. It launches and says 'We couldn't sign you in to Xbox Live - We can't sign you in to Xbox Live right now. Try again in a while. If that doesn't work, we have a few ideas that might fix the problem.', and underneath is a 'more info' link which redirects me to this bing search. Below that, there are 'Try again' and 'Switch accounts' buttons. Try again does nothing, and Switch account lets me attempt to log in with the same or a different Microsoft account before kicking me back to 'We couldn't sign you in...'. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this issue, such as -

- uninstalling/reinstalling all Xbox related apps on my PC (it remembers my account, but won't let me in)

- removing my email from my PC settings (and all other options from that Bing search)

- resetting my Microsoft password

- changing my Microsoft alias to the original email

- installing the Xbox Game Pass app on my iPhone (which lets me log in just fine)

- installing the Microsoft Authenticator app on my phone

- removing all payment methods from my account

- deleting the cache file in the 'Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider' file

- switching my pc login from a microsoft account to a local account

- enabling xbox live services in the 'services' app and forcing Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Game Save, & Xbox Live Networking Service to startup automatically

and probably some more random methods I've seen other people say worked for them, but no such luck for me. Please help, I'm really at my wits end here.

yeah! i had to make a second user on my computer - a local account instead of a microsoft account. all microsoft apps work on this one, just don’t forget to make it an administrator lol. sorry that this happened to you too!

The Xbox app now rapidly opens and closes the login screen when I attempt to log in, and the console companion app is giving me error code (0x409) 0x80131509.

I suggest you try these basic troubleshooting steps!

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.
