Unable to log into Microsoft account on games and Xbox

That is interesting. It seems to be something relating to your daughter's local account. On her account, what happens when you press the start key & R together, then type wsreset.exe?

We just need to work out what, on your daughter's account, is causing this problem.

Appreciate the response.

User gets below error when attempting to sign in.





Clicking on the "More Info" hyperlink takes me to Xbox Support page (https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/search?phrase=0x80070005).

Have tried all previously suggested steps (Repair / Reset, Uninstall / Reinstall app & Gaming service). Nothing seems to resolve it.

2 other users (primary Windows account & 2nd child account) have no issues with logging in.

Created a new Xbox account with users default windows email account no issues, but their original Xbox account keeps failing.

Can sign in with original account on webpage, as well as iPad app.

Just the PC app gives above error.

Unsure what other actions I can take, appreciate any help you may be able to provide.

No problems at all regarding the delay, have logged into my windows account and also had Son log into his, we can both log in to our respective Xbox accounts in the app under our own windows logins.

Initially I recall I was able to log in to my xbox account under daughters windows login, just seems to be her Xbox account that isnt working on the PC.

Even during all this, she is still logged in to account on ipad without issue.

Definitely an odd issue as its only affecting 1 user on 1 device.

{Edit} - Have logged into my Windows account and can sign in to my Xbox account. Surprisingly , I can also sign in to my Daughters Xbox account as well, but as soon as I switch to Her windows account & try, it throws the error.

Sorry about the delay in replying. I have been busy, offline, which is why I haven't replied.

Please can you try allowing another user to sign in on the pc using their Microsoft account. Then try and sign into the Xbox App and services on that account.

I am wondering if it is an account-based issue, or whether it is an issue to do with Windows?

Does the account, which is not able to sign in, have family settings turned on?

You can check by going to the Xbox privacy page here: https://account.xbox.com/settings

You should be able to see your settings on the accounts linked to yours as a child account.
