Unable to Launch FM 2020 after installing using game pass

I downloaded FS 2020, completed the 95GB update, but after a computer reboot was unable to reopen the game; trying to open FS resulted in the Store window appearing with a link to "Gaming Services" (which was already installed, and the Store page even said
so).

I solved my issue by going to Settings -> Apps and Features -> Gaming Services -> Advanced Options -> Reset. Whatever issues Gaming Services had were apparently resolved.

My problem was triggered by installing an updated version of Alienware Control Center. I had same issue as you after installing that, It would launch Gaming Services and stop there. I performed the Reset to Gaming Services, and I was able to launch Microsoft
Flight Simulator 2020. Thanks for posting this. I have a Dell Alienware 17R5, tagging this info for others with same configuration.

1) I downloaded the game through Microsoft Store

2) Launch the game with same problem (press any key to start) agian & again

3) then close the game!

4) download Xbox (beta) from Microsoft Store

5) launch Xbox (beta)

6) launch Flight Simulator from Xbox (beta)

7) problem sloved with (press any key to start)

now looks like updating or something?

In my case, I uninstalled Xbox Game pass and Flight Simulator, install both again and run

After 5 hours (91GB download) everything was ok!

Same method worked for me. It's like it didn't recognize that I was signed in to Xbox Game Pass until I uninstalled everything, reinstalled Xbox Game Pass app, reinstalled FS 2020, then finally the "Press Any Key" problem was gone. At this point I will just
have to wait until tomorrow for my first flight because the rest of this download will take several hours.

I’ve had the EXACT same experience as the OP. Initially I had problems launching the game after installing. After trying a few Times, the game would eventually launch and I was able to play for a few hours. Eventually, I was unable to even launch it. I did almost all of the troubleshooting the OP has already described. And currently, the game will seem like it’s launching, only to get stuck 2 or 3 seconds after launch.

I'm still unable to install it, plus I downloaded Pac-Man but that won't launch either "This game might not be playable yet" it says. This is after another hard reboot

I had a similar issue.

Having installed the game on Launch, I've not had any issues, but today I was unable to launch into the game, even after restarting my PC/downloading the digital licence for FS.

It seems as if my Firewall was causing the error: Please insert the microsoft flight simulator disc

After I had disabled my Firewall, the game launched. It's a custom firewall that I use made by Panda Security.
