Unable to join flatmates world on Minecraft PS4 - Both on same WiFi

My flatmate and I tried to play Minecraft together, in a world we had created previously, and played previously.

We both use the same WiFi, but every time we tried to connect, it came up with "Unable to connect to world" and wouldn't let us join when either one hosted.

We've played on the same world, on the same WiFi before, but since we both updated the game, we now can't play?

I cannot join my friend's world ( he is ps4 and im xbox ). We are both NAT type open and i've tried everything to join, it keeps saying unable to connect to world and i desperately need to play. Thanks, I appreciate any help

Xbox and ps4 are not crossplay at the moment for minecraft. Pc is on the other hand. Hope I helped

Make sure the world is set to allow friends to join and not single player amd your both on the same verson

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums.

To clarify, are you on Minecraft (Xbox One) or Minecraft Windows 10 edition? This is important because they are both different versions.

Can you join official servers without issue?

Besides "unable to join world" what else does the error say?

Are both of you on the same version? You can confirm with the version number on the home screen of Minecraft.
