    Thanks for the reply. So it turned out that windows needed an update so once I installed that I was able to get the xbox app installed

    Hi, please try -> Execute the command 'wsreset' via the command prompt (right mouse button on start then command prompt) or the PowerShell, please do not enter the apostrophes!
    Then restart and then it should work
