    Unable to install "Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare" on PC


    I purchased "Halo Wars 2 Complete Edition" for Windows 10 PC today, and installed it.

    In the "my library" section of the Microsoft Store app, all the components of the "complete edition" show up, but only the Halo Wars 2 base game has a "launch" button next to it. All the other items, including the DLC, show as "You own this product." with
    a big blue check-mark next to them, but no option to download or install.

    If I click the "Awakening the Nightmare" menu option inside the Halo Wars 2 game after launching it, it asks permission to launch the store app, and then comes back immediately with "nothing to do, you already own the game, please install from the store
    app". But as I mentioned, the store app just shows it as "owned", with no options for downloading, installing, or enabling it.

    I've gone through the usual troubleshooting steps, clearing store app cache, rebooting, applying all updates, etc, nothing fixes it.

    Browsing the game and DLC from the web version of the Microsoft store yields the same results, just says "already owned" with no option to download or install.

    The base game is Play Anywhere, that is, you can use the same license on console and PC, but this is not the case for the DLCs, as these are listed separately in the Microsoft Store for each platform.

    How to play awakening the nightmare on xbox?

    That's quite a generic response.... The actual reason is the game is actually installed, it's just not intuitive where to access it. You have to open halo wars 2, and instead of clicking the big button that says "awakening the nightmare" which open opens
    it in the store, you actually need to start a new campaign, and then FROM THERE, you can select awakening the nightmare......

    Please record this for other people who complain about the same thing.

    Hi Piquet21 sorry to hear about your problem. If you go into "my games and apps" than press start over Halo Wars 2, the DLC should be there in the ready to install section.

    Please note that the Awakening the Nightmare DLC is not covered by the season pass.
