Unable to install game from Xbox app on PC ever since Windows Explorer has derped on startup

Would please try to reinstall the gaming services?

First, see if Windows is updated:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click Download and Install Now option, if available (check for optional updates too);

After that:

- Go to Start > Search for PowerShell > Right Click > Run as Administrator.

- In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

- In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

- Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Also, please do these steps:

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Go to Start > Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking > Fix it.

- Go to Start > Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Set if OFF.

- Press the Windows Key + R. Type WSReset.exe and press Enter.

See if this works and please let me know. If it doesn't work, please let me know if it happens with all games (or just a few games) and if you're using Windows 10 or 11 so I can better assist you with this.

for anyone else who is knew to xbox and messes up like me, go to your game in games & apps, configuration and check for the pass there, should be able to install it from there. derp derp.

• Workaround: If your PC meets the requirements for the game but you are still unable to click the install button from the Microsoft Store app on Windows 10, this means that you need to upgrade your Windows OS version to the latest version. In

I believe that since you formatted your PC and reinstalled Windows, the game license could have been lost. The game license is not saved on the game folder. This is why you will need to download and install a game from the beginning even if you copy/paste the game folder from another computer to your own computer.

Initially I thought that since the game was installed on another HD/partition, the game license could also have been saved there. But now I think it was probably saved on the partition that Windows was installed (the one you formatted), since it is linked to Windows native apps (Microsoft store and the Xbox app). That's why you are having this behavior from the Xbox app.

I´ve tried to install it from Microsoft Store and Xbox app. I was using the default Windows 10 Xbox app which didn´t have the game.

After reading the tips from you, ngocphi and mainly Obsessive Power, I decided to install the Xbox app from link below and, "Bingo", the game is there.
