    Unable to install full title for Games With Gold-featured game of the month


    There seems to be a problem in the Xbox store in which I can't install the full version of The Division, which is supposed to be a free game for this month through Games with Gold. I installed what looks like the standard edition game, but after installation
    it shows as only the trial (despite not saying it was a trial prior to installation). However, going back into the store gives me the option to purchase the game to own, but it's the still the regular price of $30. I even tried installing the game through
    the Xbox app which my console is connected to (the game says it's free), but clicking the button to remote install does nothing. And I do have my console set up for remote installations, etc.

    Just hoping to find anyone that had a possible solution so I can actually get one of the few free games that I might be interested in.

    Why we need xbox live for free games?

    free games need live as they are still full titles with multiplayer and online features and some also require xbox live gold to be played just like games with gold games

    From the FAQ for this offer:

    Games with Gold These offers consist of both downloading and playing a featured Games with Gold for at least 10 hours per month. In order to qualify, you must both download AND play the title during the time it is featured as part of the Games with Gold
    offerings for the month. Tracking for these MyChallenges will begin as of December 1, 2017.

    • Gold Dust: Play a featured Games with Gold title for at least 10 hours during the featured period for 3 months in a row, earn 100 MyVIP Gems

    Since Tales from the Borderlands was only featured as a offer from November 16th- December 15th, it would not have qualified for January and February.

    Hey there Lavazod.

    Are you referring to a Games with Gold title? Unfortunately once a month's Games with Gold ends you would be unable to download that game again. It sounds like you previously owned the first Borderlands and were unable to get Borderlands 2 when it was available.

    Hi, a trial code may not allow online play in particular games, it is just a trial of some but not all Xbox Live Gold features. Some games will require you to have a full gold membership, 1 month, 3 month etc

    Trials are not a full gold membership & only give you limited access to some gold features.

    Not all games allow you to play online with a trial.

    The only way to get your profile to show as an xbox live gold member is to buy a gold subscription,either a 1 month,3 month or 12 month sub.
