    Unable to hear game chat


    I’ve tried multiple different headset and I have to pick between using chat or hearing in game audio. I have a wireless headset that when connected I am able to hear game audio and use Xbox live party chat but I am unable to hear in chat audio. When I use a wired headset, I am able to hear chat endgame, but I am not able to hear any game audio. Any help would be great.

    I understand you need help with your audio problem.

    You may check this guide to troubleshoot the problem:

    If none of it helps, you can also do a reset on the Xbox.

    NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

    No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Select Settings.

    3. Select System.

    4. Select Console info

    5. Select Reset console.

    6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

    This will also help sync the data on your console properly.

    I'm also unable to hear or chat when in a party when I stream an xbox game on my desktop via the Xbox App; once I stop streaming - chat is restored.
