    I know there are a lot of people who have had this problem in the past. Is this still a current problem for others or is it just me? Netflix works just fine through Xbox and so does Microsoft videos and games. It just seems to be an issue with Amazon Instant
    Video, but through a Roku device I don't have the problem. is it an Amazon Instant Video App issue on xbox or is it an issue with the Xbox itself?

    Problem with Xbox Video app for Windows 8.1 PC

    The Xbox Video app for Windows 8.1 PC does not work correctly if you have 'allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' checked in the properties of the sound card settings.

    In my case, it is Intel Display Audio HDMI. With this option checked, the Xbox Video app plays in super slow motion, like one frame per second or two, and there is no audio output. Xbox Video works correctly with this option turned off. Othter apps work
    fine with the option turned on.

    Should be easy to reproduce, hopefully someone can pass it along to the engineers to look at. In the mean time, I will have to go back to Roku and Amazon Instant Video.

    5.1 surround sound for video apps

    hi,

    Are any of the video apps like Amazon Video, Epix, Redbox instant play movies in 5.1 dolby surround sound? I just recently moved my equipment form one room to another and noticed that when usig one of these video apps; the sound is not in 5.1. When I play
    video games and in the menu I believe i am in 5.1 as I have sound coming from rear speakers.

    Netflix and Amazon Lovefilm - Choppy Framerate

    Amazon instant video has serious frame rate issues, Sound is fine, but the video studders. It worked great until Sunday Afternoon , march 23.

    Update: I installed the Amazon Instant Video app and the surround sound works flawlessly with 5.1 programs in that app.

    So this indicates the problem is with the Netflix app itself.

    Anyone else experiencing this? Is there possibly a fix coming?

    Surround Sound issues using XBOX ONE (games work in 5.1, apps only in stereo)

    First off, I love my Xbox One. I'm a Day One owner. But I'm having similar sound issues using the optical out.

    My Netflix app won't output surround sound correctly. All my games output surround flawlessly and have since day one. Also, last weekend I installed the Amazon Instant Video app and the surround sound works flawlessly with 5.1 programs in that app. So it
    appears to be a problem with the Netflix app itself.

    My sound is outputting through the optical out to my Marantz AVR. My usual audio setting on the Xbox One is set to Optical >> Bitstream out >> DTS Digital Surround. Using this setting, I get only the left/right channels in Netflix—no center channel or surround
    at all. If I change the setting to Optical >> Stereo Uncompressed, I get only the center channel and no left/right channels in Netflix—and still no surround at all.

    I've seen a few other people with this problem, but no solutions. Any ideas? (I've tried hard-resetting my Xbox, etc.) Like I said, my games and the Amazon Instant Video app all output 5.1 sound perfectly. But not Netflix.

    NETFLIX STREAMING QUALITY!

    I have had the same issues. I will get... what I can only describe as a surging picture quality. It will consistently go from HD to SD and back to HD again. I have a Roku. Hooked it up next to the xbox. No issues. Same quality issues with Amazon Instant
    Video. It's a streaming issue period. We are in need of a software upgrade.
