  1. Unable to enable xbox game bar via settings or registry

I can't get game bar to launch. Clicking it does nothing, and i'm unable to uninstall it to try and install clean from msft store (uninstall option is grayed out in settings; it doesn't show up in programs & features; even removing the packages via powershell
    does not work).

I am up to date on win 10 updates.

In settings > gaming, the toggle for "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar" does not stay toggled on. Switching to another settings page, or closing and reopening, will show the toggle reverted to Off.

The registry key for GameDVR_Enabled (HKCU\System\GameConfigStore) will not remain enabled (value 1) following a restart.

The registry key for AppCaptureEnabled (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR) also does not remain enabled (value 1) following a restart.

    Anything else I can try?

    :)

Xbox game bar on windows 11 won't open

Thank you so much for responding. To answer your question :

    1. Yes, I already checked the latest system update, and it is already on the latest update.
    2. I already checked the setting, I already enabled the xbox game bar setting. And also the game mode setting.
    3. Yes, I already enable the Game bar via Registry editor.
    4. As I said before, I already tried uninstalled and install the app back again

I've already checked Xbox forums to see if there is similar problem, but I didn't found one. Most similar problem is solved by doing the steps you mention before. But it doesn't work for me. Is there any other way to fix this?

How to stop games attempting to load the deleted xbox game bar every time

    Hi Vaseth,

Welcome to Microsoft Xbox Community Forum. I understand that you are experiencing an issue with games attempting to load the deleted Xbox game bar every time you launch a game.

To stop games from attempting to load the deleted Xbox game bar, you can try the following steps:

Step 1: Disable the Xbox Game Bar from the Windows Settings

    1. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.

    2. Click on Gaming.

    3. Click on Xbox Game Bar.

    4. Toggle off the switch for "Enable Xbox Game Bar".

Step 2: Disable the Xbox Game Bar from the Registry Editor

One possible cause is that some registry entries related to the Xbox game bar are still present on your device, even after uninstalling the app. To fix this, you need to edit the registry and delete those entries. However, this is a risky operation that may cause damage to your device if done incorrectly. Therefore, I recommend that you back up your registry before proceeding and follow the instructions carefully. See this page first for details on how to back up the registry then follow the steps below: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "regedit" and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

    3. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR

    4. Double-click on "AppCaptureEnabled" and change its value to "0".

    5. Double-click on "GameDVR_Enabled" and change its value to "0".

    6. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Another possible cause is that some games still have the Xbox game bar enabled in their settings, even if the app is not installed on your device. To fix this, you need to disable the Xbox game bar option in each game's settings. This may vary depending on the game, but usually you can find it under graphics, display, or general options.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Marrion

The achievement is unlocked, but does not popup on the game screen [on Game Pass PC]

    Thanks for the extra info

Try using your account everywhere (including the Microsoft store) to see if the achievement notification appears

And this can be a bit dumb, but make sure to have notifications enabled for the Xbox game bar via windows settings and game bar settings
