Unable to disable spending notification emails for family member

My son is now 20 and neither of us want me to received spending notification emails every time he purchases an Xbox games.

When I go into my Family account, select his account, and go to Spending I see the slider for spending notifications is On... but it's grayed out so that I can't undo that. How can I turn this Off?

    :)

Unable to disable spending notification emails for family member

    Hello GregFX,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We understand you are having issues with spending notification emails for your family member. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. This is a known issue that Microsoft team are working to resolve as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can try the following steps to disable the spending notifications for your son's account:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account on a web browser. You may go to this link: Microsoft Family Safety

    2. Select your son's account. Click on More options and then Manage permissions.

    3. Under Email and notifications, uncheck the box that says Send me an email when this person buys something.

    4. Click Save changes.

    5. If the issue still persists, you may remove your son's account from Microsoft family and re-add it to see if it works.

    Parents/owners of family group notifed

Hi WillDevons, my name is Jhon, and will be a pleasure help you

No, parents will not receive notifications when a child purchases a subscription if spending notifications are disabled for the child's account.

Spending notifications are a setting that allows parents to receive notifications when their children make purchases in the Xbox Store. If spending notifications are turned off, parents will not receive notifications about purchases made by the child, including the purchase of a subscription.

To turn off expense notifications for a child's account, follow these steps:

-Open the Xbox app on your console.
-Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.
-Select Profile & system > Settings > Account.
    -Select Family.
    -Select the child's name.
-Scroll down to the "Notifications" section.
-Uncheck the "Notify me about this family member's purchases" box.

Once you have turned off spending notifications, parents will not receive notifications when their child purchases a subscription. However, parents will still be able to see the child's purchases in their purchase history.

For your reference, I have included a link where you can find more details about the solution I suggested.

I hope the information I gave you has been useful to you, have a happy day.

How do I disable emails for more screen time requests for Microsoft family?

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    good evening

You should be able to disable email notifications for screen time requests from the Microsoft Family website. Here's how:

Go to the Microsoft Family website (https://family.microsoft.com/).

Sign in with your Microsoft account.

Click on the "Manage family settings" button.

In the left-hand menu, click on "Notifications."

Under "Screen time requests," toggle the switch to "Off."

Click on the "Save" button to apply the changes.

This should disable email notifications for screen time requests. You should still be able to see and manage screen time requests using the Family app on your phone or tablet.

    I hope this helps.

Will you receive an email/notification if a new account is added to your XBOX?

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you want to know if a notification is sent via email once a new member is added to the family.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

No, you will not receive a notification or email when a new account outside your Xbox Family is added to your console, but you will receive notifications for certain actions within the family, like purchase requests. And you can also monitor account activity and manage permissions through the Xbox Family Settings app or the Microsoft account associated with the console

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Email address used for spend notifications

Many thanks, I can see his email and my regular email but what I am unable to locate is the setting that determines where his activity and spend email notifications are held. As these are going to an old email account that I wish to delete. In contact
preferences and any other logical setting relating to spend etc it all shows my current email but that is not where the emails are being sent. Hope that makes sense.

    Thx ARC
