Unable to copy or move items from external to internal drive

If you have enough space on your external HDD, copy everything there from inside the Xbox.

Make sure your saved games are in the cloud. Then on the new one just set your default drive to the external

Open Settings on the Xbox One.

Open the System tab.

Select Storage.

Select the internal drive.

Select Transfer.

Select items you plan to transfer. If moving all items, choose Select all.

Choose Copy selected to copy the items between drives.

To move the items, select Move.

Choose the Ext. drive.

Press Copy or Move to transfer.

After transferring your games to an external hard drive, plug it into the new Xbox One.

Stored should appear in your library.

Thank you for coming to the forums. You can have up to 3 external drives on the Xbox at one time so essentially you should be able to transfer or copy your games from on external drive to the other and vice versa. Just follow the article provided by

Kiesey to get to the Storage settings and follow the steps on how to transfer games from drive to drive.

1. Open the Settings app on Xbox One.
2. Navigate to the System tab.
3. Select Storage.
4. Scroll over to the right to select the internal drive.
5. Select Transfer.
   
6. Select items you plan to transfer. If moving all items, choose Select all.
7. Choose Copy selected to copy the items between drives. To completely move the items, select
   Move selected.
8. Choose the drive you plan to move content to.
9. Press Copy or Move to initiate the transfer.

If for whatever reason it does not let you transfer from external HD to external HD, you may need to copy the games first to your internal HD and then copy the same games to your new external HD. This step may take longer but is still an option in case you
cannot copy from one external HD to the other.

Why are you copying the game over instead of moving it to the external drive? That way you don't have to delete it after you moved it.

And maybe you accidentally already moved it, and deleted it from the external drive when it was already moved (deleted) from the internal drive.

Once you copy from internal to external, the internal one will disappear after the process is done. So you are basically just moving it from one to the other. After you move all your games to the external drive. There will be a tab above your games that
lets you choose internal/external "source". If you choose internal it will show empty if you have moved all your games to the external.

I do move, but it seems the games just copied, and when i check whats on my drives the games appear on the internal and external drive, then when i delete from the internal drive, the game also deletes from the external drive?

I remember when i dowloaded doom3 it did say must be installed on the internal drive, are some games restricted to only allowed to be on the internal drive?
