Unable to connect with XBOX live using kids account with 13 year old restriction

Thanks, but I landed on this forum page via the Customer Support link you have recommended in your reply or may be you are asking me to open up a new case!

Console is already set up with child account he can play games on disc but not live. I notice i m not the only one with this issue, infect the guy at the games shop said its a common issue with accounts and permissions set up.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand you are trying to allow your kids access to Xbox live features. What account did you redeem the Xbox live gold subscription? Also, try

power cycle the console then log into the account you redeemed the subscription on, and try to start a party. Hit the Xbox logo button, go left to multiplayer, hit A on start a party. If it puts them in a party, the gold sub is working.
