Unable to Connect to Xbox Live Party Chat After Recent Update

Knowing that you are experiencing issues with not being able to connect to Xbox Live Party Chat after the latest update, you can refer to the following suggestions:



Go to Xbox Privacy and Online Safety to ensure that the relevant communication settings are checked to Allow.

Check your current NAT type.

Press the Xbox button to open the navigation page.

Select Profiles and System > Settings > General > Network Settings.

Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

You need the NAT type to be Open, and you also need to make sure that there are no errors, such as double NAT detected or UPnP unsuccessfully displayed.



If possible, try joining Party Chat with another Xbox account to see if the problem is related to your account. This will rule out issues related to your profile.

Do you receive any error message that you can share? As part our troubleshooting, please ensure that your communication settings are properly configured. These communication settings can be adjusted to limit who you want to chat with.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system.

2. Select Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customise.

3. Select Communication & multiplayer, and then review the settings for the following to make sure that they are set to "Everyone":

Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

You can communicate outside of Xbox with voice & text

You can use video for communications

Note: If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat. I understand how frustrating this issue can be. You're not alone, I've seen that others have reported similar issues after the latest update.

Try checking your NAT type in network settings, as a strict or moderate NAT can cause party chat problems. Also, clearing the alternate MAC address (Settings > Network > Advanced) and power cycling your console might help.

If the issue persists, you might also want to try it on a different WiFi Network or mobile hotspot just to rule out if it's related to your internet provider.

Not Working

It says "group not found." So if I am not in the preview program as the chat representative said, what is the issue for my party chat not working after the most recent Xbox update?
