Unable to connect to Xbox Live after recent update

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing issues connecting to Xbox Live following a recent update on my console. Everything was working fine before, but immediately after the update installed, I repeatedly receive an error message stating that I'm unable to connect to Xbox Live.

I've tried resetting my console, restarting my router, and even checking the Xbox status page for any service outages, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. My internet connection appears stable, and all other devices at home are functioning properly.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem or could offer any advice on potential fixes? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Press and hold the “Xbox” button on the console for at least 10 seconds to turn on the power center.

Then unplug it from the console and wait 3 minutes.

Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Press the “Xbox” button on the console to turn it on again.

Press the “Xbox” button.

Open Settings.

Go to “Network” and select “Network Settings”.

Select Advanced Settings.

Select the alternate MAC address.

Select Clear.

Select “Reboot”.

Manual DNS Setup: Try to set up DNS manually. go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Manual. Go to “Settings” > “Network Settings” > “Advanced Settings” > “Manual” and enter the following DNS addresses: Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8, Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4.

Check your current NAT type.

Press the Xbox button to open the navigation page.

Select Profiles and System > Settings > General > Network Settings.

Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

You need the NAT type to be Open.

We've the same issue after a recent update from Xbox live - we are not connected to the interweb.

Just to be clear, have any of you NOT received the update yet and unable to connect? and by not receiving the update, I mean that all day you've been able to connect to Xbox Live, but havent even been given the option to download an update and then just
recently get disconnected?

Knowing that you are experiencing issues with not being able to connect to Xbox Live Party Chat after the latest update, you can refer to the following suggestions:

Go to Xbox Privacy and Online Safety to ensure that the relevant communication settings are checked to Allow.

Check your current NAT type.

Press the Xbox button to open the navigation page.

Select Profiles and System > Settings > General > Network Settings.

Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

You need the NAT type to be Open, and you also need to make sure that there are no errors, such as double NAT detected or UPnP unsuccessfully displayed.

If possible, try joining Party Chat with another Xbox account to see if the problem is related to your account. This will rule out issues related to your profile.
