Yes, NAT type shows strict and testing the multiplayer connection yields this error: 'Can't get a Teredo IP address'

i was looking around the internet and it saids that some routers/modems has a option to enable teredo and ipv6 should be on. i don't understand why you having problems you got very good internet. the only things i can say is restore your router to factory
deafults if that does not work maybe your isp is blocking it some how.

I've tried restoring to factory default settings already. I don't see any option specific to Teredo, but I have tried enabling/disabling IPv6 and it didn't help. I'm leaning toward an ISP issue.

i believe it might be. the user can only do so much than the isp has to do there job. you can always contact xbox stuff and ask them but it most likely be a isp issue. i use TWC

The Xbox customer service guy recommended restoring the Xbox One to factory default, which seems to have fixed the problem. Not a very obvious solution and pretty inconvenient, but at least it's working (for now).

I did for the router, but not on the Xbox itself. It removes all games & apps, so not a fun solution but it worked.

To better isolate your issue, we would like to ask few questions:

What is your Xbox NAT type? Do you have any error messages or code seen on the NAT or Network Settings?

Kindly go to Xbox Console's Settings. Select Network and Network Settings. Look for NAT Type.
May we ask if you have the same NAT type with your friend? (NAT Type: Open, Moderate, Strict, Unavailable)? Does your friend have any error messages or code?

(Like Double NAT detected, 0x89231906, Can’t get a Teredo IP address, NAT Type: Unavailable, Teredo is unable to qualify).

NAT type determines whether you can successfully use multiplayer gaming or party chat. Having an Open NAT can allow you to host a multiplayer games. Moderate, Strict and Unavailable NAT Type cannot host a match. NAT Type Moderate can only play with some people, not all because NAT Type Strict will only play with players on Open NAT Type. If NAT is unavailable, you’ll be unable to use party chat or connect to multiplayer games for some Xbox titles.

I just finished upgrading the firmware to my router, going through the options I still didn't see anything related to ipv6 or teredo tunneling. I reset the router and made sure that UPnP was turned on. I also went to my xbox one and cleared the alternate
mac address and cleared it. The nat type is still strict and when attempting the test multiplayer connection option I still get the can't get a teredo ip address. Upon joining a party i'm still unable to join the party chat, I receive the message "Due to limitations,
you can't join party chat right now. (0x807d0106)"
