    Unable to clear phantom network
    This morning when I was busy trying to download a game (Journey to the savage planet), in the middle of the download my internet dissconnected and when I went to reconnect it there was this phantom wireless network named "wireless". I thought at first
    I'd just reconnect to my actual wireless network but it refuses to scan for it and when I type in the SDD it immediately says it isn't WPA/WPA2 before it attempts to even check for it. Since then, I've attempted to hard reset, go offline, clear networks,
    and even factory reset to no avail. Now, I'm stuck with a xbox that cannot update as it won't let me change to an actual internet. I tried wired internet but it sticks on "checking connection" until I have to hard reset again. Does anyone know whats going
    on and how to take care of it?

    Sure thing, booted it up today and got the backup working in a few minutes. Just was a little freaked out about it.

    I work in IT and you might be surprised just how often something is fixed by waiting a while. Sometimes you just gotta chalk it up to one of life's mysteries.

    solved :

    Xbox was unable to find any wireless networks.

    Resolution steps:

    1. Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac address

    2. Clear and restart

    Fixed!

    Hello Mr,

    To further troubleshoot we would need to reboot router. I understand that you are unable to and that's ok. You can try to clear alt mac address. Go to settings>network>network settings>adv. setting clear alt mac.
