    Unable to Clean up leftover file from xbox game pass (PC)


    I installed Xbox game pass for PC (xbox app) - installed several games, and now my subscription expired

    uninstalled installed game thru windows add/remove programs

    but the space is not freed, they still end up taking the space

    i installed games on my E drive

    i tried change ownership of "WindowsApps" folder, apply to subfolders, etc - access denied, tried to manually change the subfolder, but it's grayed out

    tried powershell remove package, but it says package not exist

    tried looking more thru internet, no solution

    pls help. it's taking up huge amount of HD space, and atm, can't get rid of it Unable to Clean up leftover file from xbox game pass (PC) :(

    Hello There ! I advise you to follow these steps to resolve the issue :

    Remove Temporary files on your computer.

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and then click the Settings icon.
    2. Select System, and then select Storage.
    3. Select This PC and click on Temporary files.
    4. Select Temporary files.
    5. Click Remove files.
    6 . Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

    If the issue persists, , The only solution i can suggest to remove left over files is right click c drive, properties, disk cleanup and tick everything it will remove delivery optimization files which is usually stuff that is sat there after installing or removing games and programs, does not matter if its on another drive, running from c will get those in the folders that you have no permission to alter.

    Hey Anarchy2k5,

    When you are viewing the Settings>System>Storage Page> you will want to select the "Make More Space" option. You will then see the option for the Leftover add-ons.

    If it's a PC, clean it with a cleaner. Clean up registry, cache, temporary files, etc.
