    can watch tv ok

    xboxone can control volume of tv

    csnnot change channels or power on off csBle box

    tried various entries for provider model and even code. Note that it never asks to choose from a list that include the exact model . Closest I ever saw was explorer 4250HD

    We couldnt find any brands that match

    I have brighthouse networks cable box, explorer 4250HDC, when doing the set up guide it will recognize my sony tv, it will send commands, but when prompted that it recognized my brand of cable box its the wrong one, i manually input it and it gives error
    We couldnt find any brands that match. The guide shows up and im able to watch the initial channel the cable box is on, but when i select a channel through the guide it wont change the channel, its not inputting the channel. Also using the kinect to say "watch"
    doesnt work either. Also when i try and select a channel it will restart the xbox one guide set up screen all over again. i have tried 2 different cable boxes and experienced the same problem.

    Is there any way to have the xbox one recognize the model of cable box i have? or any other fixes

    Using xbox one to watch tv without kinnect

    I have an comcast xfinity cable box with the xr2. I am having trouble setting up the "cable or satellite" box section under device control. I would like to be able to change channels with the controller or using smart glass but it's extremely confusing.

    Max extreme thanks for the response Are you saying you changed your device Id for the cable box to that or is that an ir blaster code. My xbox doesn't have any problems communicating with the cable box other then the audio. I can say "xbox watch espn"
    and it changes the cable box channel to espn. The comcast box I'm using is an rng110.

    XBOX One is INCOMPATIBLE with TIME WARNER CABLE!?

    I use Time Warner here in Brooklyn NY and didn't have really any problems with setting up my cable box. I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8600HD cable box. I did experience the a problem last night while changing the channel via voice command the Xbox
    said the link between the cable box was lost. I asked it to change the channel again and it connected back again. My cable box is a few years old and I believe they don't use this model any more.

    I am also having a problem wih changing channels. Mine was working just fine for three weeks and now it is not cooperating. I am with Brighthouse cable. The cable box is a cisco Explorer 8640HDC

    The TV is a Sony Bravia - KDL - 40EX710

    The STB is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HDC

    The setup is STB -> HDMI Cable -> XBOX ONE -> HDMI Cable -> Sony Bravia

    I also have comcast/xfinity and everything is working fine. Have you connected the cable box directly to your tv via the hdmi cable to verify a signal is there? I can recall an earlier comcast box that did not use hdmi as default, you had to enable this
    in the cable box setup. I believe it was a Scientific Atlanta HD receiver. To get into the setup you had hold down front panel buttons during the power up sequence. If you do not get a signal I would google your cable box model and look for additional information.
    As for the missing channels, the OneGuide can be configured to not show SD channels that have HD equivalents, are these the missing channels?
