Unable to accept friend request after resetting PIN

I have repeatedly set my son’s Xbox account to allowing him access to accept friends request without approval. However, every time he tries to accept a request it requires a PIN. I enter the PIN and I am told it is incorrect. I have reset it multiple times and am still told the new PIN is incorrect. I have tried deleting a PIN being required. I have changed parental settings. We have been struggling with this for months. I feel we have tried all options but no matter what a PIN is required and after changing and resetting the PIN at least 5 times, nothing works. I would like him to be able to game with his friends but we are unable to get around this. Help please.

Please, let us review if all these options are enabled:

Check his account privacy settings:

Please, enter this site:

https://account.xbox.com/settings

On the Privacy Tab, allow "You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text"

Then, switch over to the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab:

Allow:

"You can play with people outside of Xbox Live"

"You can add friends"

If those options are already set to allow, I kindly ask you to speak with the XBOX Staff.

Had the same issue so in the game I turned the PIN code on to accept friends and I was able to send Requests with a pin and then I turned it off and it’s back to normal

Just fixed this on my sons Xbox.

Did 2 things, not sure which fixed it:

1) logged into Fortnite website and tuned on “Require PIN to add Epic friends”, then turned it back off.

Or

2) rejected all pending friend requests in the game itself.

A few minutes later he could send and accept requests again

Have you tried Xbox.com/forgot??? Contacting phone support is also a great way to clear up account issues. GOOD LUCK!!!
