Ubisoft abandons Watch Dogs trademark

Well that's good news that they are keeping the game. I am concerned about The Division tho. I hope it doesn't get some massive delay. I understand that sometimes release dates need to be pushed back for polish, QA, etc, but continually delaying the release
of your games can be indicative of something worse going on internally.

 

Possible that some one outright bought the rights for the game hence the abandoned the trademark. It is plausible. Will know in the following weeks.

Or simply the name watch dogs felt to urban and tough to market properly? Will know soon what's going on

 

Apparently something about having the underscore, Watch_Dogs, instead of Watch Dogs?

Oh and for whatever reason, people are starting to speculate that Ubisoft might be turning Watch_Dogs into the next Assassin's Creed.. lol

 

Oh Im sure it will still release but not sure if the game will continue to be supported after its release.

It's because of the underscore most likely, no sense in them keeping the other one if they won't be using it

huh, i guess the abandonment was fraudulent and the game is on track for whatever date they pushed it back to...i still think they should patent watch_dogs instead of just watch dogs.

Very interesting. Someone had to get the patent number and forge Yves Guillemot's signature to make this happen. Someone is really hating on Ubisoft to do all that.
