    Original xbox 360 with wireless n adapter will only connect to 802.11g not 802.11n

    I've hunted high and low for a solution online but nothing has worked. I have an original xbox with a wireless n adapter. My wireless network comes from a Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2 (2.4Ghz, B/G/N) using WPA2/AES security via a Belkin F9K1002 router. All
    of my other 802.11n devices connect to the network in 802.11n but my xbox will only ever connect to 802.11g.

    I've tried the following:

    * Restoring network settings to factory on the xbox

    * Restoring router and AP settings to factory

    * Removing all security

    * Can't set to 802.11n only on the Ubiquiti (it only allows mixed B/G/N) to test if xbox connects to 802.11n then

    Please help as I've completely run out of ideas.

    Xbox One multiplayer lag. How to increase internet speeds for gaming.

    A "wireless extender" is normally referred to a wireless backhaul, or a wireless distribution system (WDS), operating on the same frequency. This is not to be confused with the majority of 802.11 deployments, that use multiple APs as a portal into an 802.3
    Ethernet backbone.

    Now, if cable drops, in your househould, is not feasible, then a viable solution to consider would be setting up a mesh network, wich utilizes different frequencies and radios for client access and distribution (wireless backhaul). The disadvantage is foremost
    the half duplex medium, but also the fact that each frame transmission needs to be sent twice. This decreases througput and increases latency.

    An additional option, if cable drop is possible, is to buy a set of APs (e.g. Ubiquiti), along with a fairly cheap unmanaged switch with PoE/PoE+. With the Ubiquiti you have the option to extend each BSS with the help of an ESSID, having wireless devices
    the ability to, seamlessly, roam between the APs.

    A last resort, to consider, is a Wi-Fi Homeplug/Powerline adapter.
