You can reset the Xbox by following the steps below:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

After that, you will be able to set up your console again just like the first time.

I don't quite understand your first question. If you have 2 accounts on one Xbox, then you can play with one without it affecting the other.

As for your second question, could you please elaborate? Does it freeze when you play? Does it happen with some games? Do you have an error code?

Thanks for your response. steeledwand7664's explanation is a great example, and indeed you would need two Xbox consoles set as home with two separate accounts with their individual copies of the games.

You can't have data from two separate accounts saved to just one account. I suspect you most likely overwrote one save with another. You need to make your main account the home Xbox and sign the other account in as a guest on the console.

unfortunately not, the only way to play together on one xbox is if you select missions in the home menu.

if you want to play together online you'll need two separate xbox ones
