Two xbox series s can't play together on same games.

I have been trying for months to figure this issue out. My brother and I have our own xbox series s' and cannot seem to play any games together at all. The wifi is fine, (ping tends to be at 19ms on average) both have different ports (i changed from default port address to two different ones) and both have different ip addresses. One of them is 198.168.12.148 and the other is 198.168.12.158). Both accounts were game sharing but I disabled that and will test it out later (Xbox 1 was my home xbox and xbox 2 was my brothers home xbox. He plays on xbox 1 and i play on xbox 2) and both accounts have their own gold subscription. What happens is whenever one connects the other cannot join them. Basically, one xbox is prioritized over the other and that one cannot join the same game no matter what. If you are the 2nd xbox trying to join xbox 1 you simply get brought back to the games title screen or the game closes out completely. Now we can play different games with different people and still be in the same xbox party chat but the second we try to play together things just don't seem to work. I have no idea what the issue could be and as stated early have look up and tried many different methods to fix this (ie different ports, different ip address, both have their own gold, both own the same game (as in both own individual copies of the game(s) being tested) and still have not found an answer that works. Right now I am going to see if disabling the xbox homes and then resetting them will help (although based off of my current luck the past few months I highly doubt this will work). If anyone Knows ANYTHING that will work it would gladly be appreciated. And I am also open to trying things as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you playing digital copies of games? Do you have more than one? Are these game pass titles? When you disabled the game share you reset their home Xbox correct?

and join party's and play the same game together, no matter who is playing on any of these consoles.

I have Xbox series S and I'm having the same problem with all the Gamepass Cloud gaming games.

I can play two players with Rocket League, Overcooked2, It takes two so far....

Other than these three games I haven't got any of the recommended "Play together games" from gamepass cloud gaming games.

I can log in with different account, or guest account fine. However in game where it "usually" says press A to join... second player controller's A button is not responsive at all..

xbox button work fine, so I make sure that second player and the controller is logged in and recognized by the xbox once again...

but cannot play it.

I bought xbox series S mainly to play games with my daughter, but if it is this frustrating to play together it is really disappointing. Single player totally defeats the purpose for me.

The games that did not work from top of my head were paw patrol, avenger, dodgeball academia, archvale, phogs? fifa, ... and many more I can't think of names right now...

All Xbox One games are compatible with the Series S/X. You can't sign in and play them at the same time on both consoles if that's what you mean though, but you can switch back and forth between the two consoles.

I am having the same issue today and wanting to play a game with my son who is player one and I am player two. We have the Xbox series S Console with the game It Takes Two installed on it. Yesterday we played the game together for about one hour and then it was bedtime. We tried again today and the player two controller is signed in as well as the player one controller is signed in but the player two controller will not join into the game. What is the cause of this and how can we fix it?
